Where to dance

Arriving:- The doors open between 15 - 30 minutes before the class should you wish to practice the previous weeks moves. In some of our venues a licensed bar will also be open if you wanted to chill out and have a drink before dancing.
The Beginners Class:- Here you join in the beginners jive class and learn 3 basic moves. Modern Jive is so simple to learn we guarantee that you will be able to dance after just your first lesson!
The Freestyle Break:- The DJ takes over for 30 minutes so you can either practise the moves you have just learnt or just relax and have a drink.
Choice of second class:- You now have the choice of 2 (or on some nights 3) classes to choose from. If you are a beginner you can do the beginners lesson again in a smaller group or you can try the intermediate class which is slightly harder.
Social Freestyle:- Again the DJ takes over for what we call 'Freestyle' which is basically an evening social dance - your chance to practise the moves you have just learnt in a relaxed, fun and safe environment.

Modern Jive is probably one of the most popular partner dances there is, it is easy to learn and a lot of fun to do. There are several ways in which you can get involved, the quickest is just pop along to one of our regular class nights and join in.

. Obviously no one can eliminate risk totally from any social gathering whether it be dancing, going for a meal or sporting event but as adults we have to make the decision if we are happy to do this.

Although our classes at Burghfield have been running since 2009 our regular Wednesday evenings in Berkshire have been established since 1997.
Over the past few months the numbers at Burghfield have exploded, making it one of the busiest Modern Jive nights in the area with dancers travelling from all over the south to join in the fun.
The Burghfield CSA Club (formerly known as the Civic Service Club) is in an enviable semi-rural location but at the same time, being only minutes from Junction 11 & 12 off the M4.
The club has undergone a superb refurbishment programme recently and dancers agree it definitely has one of the best dance floors in the area. There is an excellent licensed bar plus hot food served at the venue from 7pm – many of our dancers come down straight from work and have a bite to eat before the night begins! Finally a huge free car park makes this THE ideal dance venue and one we are proud to support.

Our Thatcham Modern Jive night started in 1996 and over 20 years later it is still a popular evening out. Quite a number of our dancers have been regulars at this venue for many years and our new members always say how friendly the night is.
The Catholic Hall is conveniently situated on the main A4 in Thatcham and has ample free parking. There is a soft drinks bar and you are welcome to bring your own drinks too.

Our HUNGERFORD Modern Jive Night is on the MOVE!
We are delighted to be re-opening at the Hungerford Town Hall - the fabulous Corn Exchange Hall from Thursday 24th June 2021.
In addition, we have our first Hungerford Friday Freestyle on
Friday 9th July - TICKETS NOW ON SALE! The freestyle is not fixed partners and to start with we are only selling 50 tickets in case we can only have restricted numbers after the Government Guidelines.
